Greenfield YMCA’s free clothing store opens Wednesday


BARRY: THE GREENFIELD YMCA’S FREE CLOTHING STORE OPENS TOMORROW. 22NEWS REPORTER MIKE MASCIADRELLI TELL US HOW THIS ANNUAL EVENT HELPS FRANKLIN COUNTY FAMILIES IN NEED. MIKE MASCIADRELLI: THIS 2-DAY FREE CLOTHING STORE PROVIDED CLOTHING FOR 775 FRANKLIN COUNTY RESIDENTS LAST YEAR. THE STORE’S ORGANIZERS HOPE TO EXCEED THAT NUMBER THIS YEAR. DOZENS OF VOLUNTEERS WERE AT THE GREENFIELD YMCA’S GYMNASIUM TODAY FOLDING AND SORTING THROUGH THOUSANDS OF CLOTHING ITEMS IN PREPARATION FOR THE EVENT. THE CLOTHING STORE HAS EVERYTHING FROM MEN’S AND WOMEN’S SHIRTS AND PANTS, TO CLOTHES FOR TODDLERS. THERE ARE ALSO WINTER COATS, TIES, AND TOYS. ALL OF THE CLOTHING IS DONATED BY YMCA MEMBERS AND FRANKLIN COUNTY RESIDENTS. TERRY RUGGLES: OUTREACH COORDINATOR, GREENFIELD YMCA IF THEY NEED CLOTHING FREE IN THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS, THIS IS THE PLACE TO COME AND LOOK. IT SERVES THE COMMUNITY, AND ENCOURAGES VOLUNTEERISM AND HELPING YOUR NEIGHBOR.
